Roofing Materials

Ace Roofing WA uses quality roofing materials.

Using quality roofing materials is essential for good looks and longevity, this is why Ace Roofing WA always uses BlueScope Lysaght steel unless an alternative is specified. Please remember that you may not be comparing identical materials when considering quotes, so it is in your best interests to take the time to find out what type, quality and quantities of materials are included to make sure you are paying for what you expected. If you don't know what is being used on your job and why, please ask so you aren't left wondering.

Tin Sheeting

Common Materials

The two most common materials used today are Zincalume® and Colorbond®. These are popular for their lightweight, low cost and longevity. Colorbond® comes in a variety of colours to suit most building styles. Galvanised® Iron may still be needed on occasion to match existing materials for repairs.

Unless otherwise specified, all sheeting used by Ace Roofing WA is made from quality BlueScope Lysaght steel.

Common Profiles

A wide variety of decking and sheeting is available to suit most situations. These profiles vary from the classic corrugated profile, Mini Orb® for decorative effects or deeper sections for flatter roofs requiring superior drainage.

Tin sheeting can also be made to order to fit most roof and verandah curvatures.

Guages

Many gauges of steel are available so what is appropriate will depend on the situation and building type. The most common gauge for corrugated household roof sheeting is .42mm. Thicker gauge may be needed for heavier commercial or industrial applications and it also depends on the sheet's profile.

Colours

If you need more than the standard silver of Zincalume® or galvanised iron then Colorbond® may be what is needed. Colorbond® is available in a large array of colours to suit most situations.

Clear / Transparent Sheeting

Common Materials

Fibreglass and Polycarbonate Sheeting.

Translucent polycarbonate sheeting is often used in domestic situations to provide more light to living areas. This is often used in outdoor pergolas. Fibreglass is generally used in commercial and industrial situations.

Polycarbonate is available in a variety of different colours and tints and is very popular for domestic use, especially with pergolas and covered walkways.

Common Profiles

Clear sheeting is available to match any tin profiles that may be in use.

Guttering & Downpipes

Gutter Materials and Profiles

Colorbond® or Zincalume® continue to be the materials of choice for guttering as these are available in a wide variety of colours and, more importantly, profiles to match your building design. Whether it's a colonial style or a modern minimalist look you are after, Ace Roofing WA will help you find a gutter shape to compliment your building design.

Gutters are also available in PVC to combat corrosion problems but are available in limited sizes and profiles and are not as cost effective as tin.

Most large roofs and commercial properties require larger box gutters that allow for larger drainage and are needed where an external gutter can't be fitted.

Downpipe Materials and Profiles

Most domestic down pipes are made from either round or rectangular shapes which can come in a variety of sizes and are available in Colorbond®, Zinzalume® and galvanised iron.

Larger section downpipes are used in commercial and industrial situations where PVC is often used for it's anti-corrosive properties. Rainheads are often installed to avoid overflows during heavy rain.
